I don’t know about you but when I hear the word ‘plague’ my mind instantly goes back to the 14th century during medieval times and the ‘black death’ that spread through Europe killing millions; I certainly don’t think about modern-day America. The truth is, as scary as it is, the plague still exists today. In fact, there have been 17 confirmed cases of plague in the U.S. from 2005-2014, and 8 of those were in 2014. So far this year, there have been 4 reported cases in Colorado alone resulting in 2 deaths – the latest being on August 5! While this disease has not reached epidemic proportions for certain, the numbers indicate that it is surely on the rise especially in the western U.S.
The beautiful State of Colorado is noted for its beauty and a variety of species of wildlife. However, not all Colorado wildlife has that attraction and some, in fact, become invaders of your residences and businesses. One of those invasive creatures is the common squirrel. Squirrels are furry. They are cute. They have the characteristics and actions of a clown and can be very charming.
