Colorado Mole And Vole Identification And Control

Moles can cause significant and expensive damage to landscaping

What are moles and voles?

Moles are small mammals that have long narrow snouts, small eyes, rounded bodies and front claws that they use for digging and tunneling.  A vole is a small rodent resembling a mouse but with a stouter body, a shorter hairy tail, a slightly rounder head and smaller ears and eyes. There are approximately 70 species of voles; they are sometimes known as meadow mice or field mice in North America.  Both moles and voles are common in Denver, Fort Collins and throughout Colorado.

Are they dangerous?

They do not pose any known health risks to humans or pets; however, they can cause significant and expensive damage to landscaping.

So why do I have them?
