South American killer spider hitches a lift to the US in a coffin and starts to breed and kill. Don’t worry friends; this is not a recent head line or even a true story. It’s actually the plot of the 1990 horror movie Arachnophobia, as provided by IMDB. I’m not sure what it is about spiders; they have the uncanny ability to scare people of all ages and have even reduced grown men to petrified little boys.

Black widows
And while spiders for the most part or merely annoying, some like the black widow can cause serious health problems especially for the elderly and young children. Eliminate sheltering sites outside your home. Sites include woodpiles, rocks and compost piles.

Seal them out of your home. Seal cracks and crevices around the foundation, doors and windows and repair or replace ripped or torn screens.

Make the inside of your home unwelcoming to spiders. Basements and other storage areas, especially dark ones, are very appealing and should be kept free of clutter. Also limited the amount of boxes can help eliminate hiding places for these pests.
